Fascinating #VerseLove26 Prompt Yesterday - Tax Day Haikus. I Guess We All Do Have A Lil' Story to Tell...Bring on the 5-7-5

Yesterday was day one of the Dr. Karen Karbiener visit to Fairfield University and we started it with a community event at Lordship House in southern Stratford thanks to the kindness of the home owners. We gathered around 25 writers, scholars, politicians, and teachers in the area and did a Long Island Sound event in collaboration with the Center for Climate, Coastal, and Marine Studies. In short, over 1,000 youth in CT schools will be touched by Poetry for Kids: Walt Whitman. Dr. Karbiener is simply delightful.

It was also day 15 of #VerseLove26 and the prompt was taxing...do hiakus about Tax Day. Clever prompt which was wonderful for a frantic day. I could get to it quite easily.

Today will be another one...hoping to get a long walk in with Karal before it begins. As for Alisha's catering. OMG. What an amazing contribution she made to yesterday's celebrations. Hoping to enjoy even more today.
