We did get to Lowe's and got a few plants, as well as hoses to water the materials we planted. We took down a decade of Christmas Tree Shop junk than no longer works and even added new solar lights. Mom asked if the World Cup game was lasting all day, and I said, "Nope...there are many games." I've been watching them back-to-back.
In the afternoon, I went to Cynde's so Karal could have some cousin time in which Lucy said, "Nope. I'm not running, I'm lounging."
She lounged.
At night, mom, dad, and I got Palantino's take out: chick parm, pasta, fries, salad. It was good, but I think we all over ate before the Knick's game.
They're call for rain today, but we'll see. I think it is likely to warm up and we might get a storm or two. I predict it will be mostly nice for the day, like it was yesterday.A day like yesterday reminded me of the wonderful summer months of yesteryear where everyone gathered in the backyard to swim in the pool and to eat whatever we put together on the grill. The day would start, the skies would warm, and the people would wander over. Those days are very missed, as are the joints I used to have where I would run 11 miles and join everyone in the pool (which was my summer bath).
Funny, too, because I was craving a cold beer last night. I haven't craved her in years, but something about the warmth of the day and the work we attempted to do must have kicked off Chubby's memories. I thought about going to the store to get a six pack, but got too lazy. Still is weird to me to know that the beer isn't flowing onto and into 5388 Amalfi like it used to, but nothing stays the same forever. Change is inevitable.
And how many changes have me made to dad's front? Quite a few. Mom's clematis still is in bloom. That has survived for a few decades now.
