Needing to Get Back to the Nutmeg State, But First a Lunch with My Nephew and Laster Ice Cream with the Stahrr Twins of North Syracuse

I did get weed-whacking done, but then it poured on me. I went back later and tried to finish, but the battery died. Somehow dad found another reason to mow the lawn, even though it didn't need it. I have to remember it's something that keeps him busy and that he likes to do.

Dylan requested Barado's on Oneida Lake which was a great choice (yes, they're still rebuilding the bridge) and although I loved the brisket lunch, my stomach no longer likes such delicacies. It took me all afternoon to digest it and to tame the acid burn. Not fun. But Dylan got his fish sandwich and we discussed his certification program at LeMoyne.

Later, after I calmed my stomach I took Lys (Chitunga's girlfriend of 3 years) and Bri out for dinner. they are finishing their semesters as teachers and getting ready for summer calm (as well as an Alaska cruise with their grandparents who live in Florida)(scratching it off the bucket lists).

I need to download another book (I'm thinking My Mother the Mermaid Chaser, because I enjoyed My Father the Panda Killer on my way here) by Jamie Jo Hoang. She can write, and I loved the Vietnamese storytelling and hope to meet her very soon (maybe this year at NCTE).

As for Plank Road Ice Cream, phew, they need to cut down their serving size. I swear they put a whole gallon of Panda Paw on my cone....it wouldn't hold, so I needed to get a bowl for it. Even then, I could only eat a quarter of what was given to me, and I can eat ice cream....especially Panda Paw.

I should probably finish the backyard weed-whacking before I take off, but also need to be sure all is in check for the departure. Let's see...dad might need grass seed because he's cut the lawn to shreds in his daily approach. I also want to bake a cinnamon cake before departing...sort of a tradition where I leave the cake for them to eat (they'd been tackling the banana bread for a few days now).

Also need to remember to pack up my huge package of Hoffman's Hotdogs I bought and have been storing in the downstairs refrigerator. Can't wait to introduce them to my grill.

The time always flies at home. Didn't see Kanyea or Abu, because their lives are frantic and hectic, too. Maybe next time...or when they visit Connecticut.
