Three World Cup Games, a Day Off, Hoffman Hotdogs brought from Syracuse...Perfect Walnut Beach Day for a Gathering, Food, & Sports

I may have overdone it, but I thought there were going to be another 10 people eating with us. Either way, I had my giant bags of Hoffman's, Grey Poupon mustard, Kayem hotdog buns, a giant bowl of fruit, and a green & garbanzo bean salad to share with others. Pam provided her delicious potato salad (so so good) and Bev/Leo brought ice cream desert.

Great USA game and only Pam and I made it through the Scotland/Morocco game. I caught Haiti & Brazil back home.

I'm not sure what it is about summer picnic eating, but I love the variety of items to be scooped onto a paper plate, all in the pleasure of dining with friends. Glad there were sports to watch, too.

It's actually beautiful in CT right now. The humidity and high temperatures backed off for a week or two and the weddings this weekend could not have a better atmosphere. I have two tonight, same time...different ends of the State. I can only do one, but we don't need to hit the highways until 3 p.m. (all depends on I-95 on a Saturday).

It was great walking yesterday, too, and I came upon a terrible accident by my house. Guessing a mother (child in back) was texting and higher than a kite, as she rammed into an 87 year old woman, causing both cars to off-road through fences only to be stopped by residential homes. I saw the ambulances leaving and I was like, "Nope. I don't want to know more." Such snap-of-the-finger tragedies like that simply get into my head and don't like to depart. As neighbors were sharing what they knew, I was trying to get Karal through them as fast as I could.

The grilled hotdogs, with Grey Poupon and Kayem wiener buns was exactly what I hoped they'd be. All three meals occurred at1/2 time during the USA/Australia game. I only had a cup of yogurt for breakfast, and kept it light because I knew it was entertaining time (and I really do like to cook and try new things (lemon-honey zest dressing....apparently makes beans and tomatoes pop with flavor - I read an entire chemistry article on why the zest and beans work together nicely. I lost the big words to name it, though.

My lawn needs to be mown. I wish to take Karal for an exhausting walk, and I need to map out tonight's wedding trip. I have plenty of leftovers and wish I could share with any and all. The fruit will definitely be breakfast tomorrow and I also know what lunch will be.

Here's to your Saturday.
