A Reunion of Sorts in Stratford, While Eating at Dockside in Devon. I Miss These People & Our Times Together Tremendously

Great futbol yesterday. I spent most of the day on campus readying for today's PD in Greenwich, but I knew I was working towards dinner...a meet up with Kris, Dave, and Ish, as they were in the area for an appointment and heading to Dave's sister. They also have a Juneteenth event in NYC and a 9/11 Mets game against the cubs. They are always packing it in so it was great to hang with them, and Michael van Wahlde, although the time was brief

I had a swordfish BLT with fries, and I think I'm ready to say that I can no longer do the fried potatoes. My stomach just doesn't like digesting the oils they cook them in. The fish, however, was delicious, and I need to be better about getting salads and rice dishes instead.  I live and I learn.

The Sealey, Wooley, Johnsons were the greatest asset to my Stratford living before they moved to Penn State to continue careers there. I will get Dave back this summer for the literacy labs and I look forward to catching up even more then.

I love that Kris sings, "Here comes the sun," as hot flashes approach her. Yes, we're all getting older. Crazy to think about how much change, family, storytelling, thinking, and problem-solving we've done as a collective. They are VIP to me and always will be. I love the way our brains make sense of the world. I miss that orange Subaru behind them, and the days I'd pull up with my green hulk version in the Canisius parking lot.

Time never sits still, though.

And speaking of time, I must deal with insane traffic to get to my destination. I curse it every time I say, "Sure, I'll do PD in Greenwich. No problem."

Fingers crossed that everyone is staying home this Wednesday and it is a smooth trip. I'm excited to work with their teachers again, although I know I'm the last hours of their school year before summer break.

I hate me for it, too. But we'll have fun.

That's the Problem with Summer. It's Simply Too Easy to Hop on the Grill and Find a Way to Gather with Others.

I had grandiose plans for being a loner on Sunday, which I did until later afternoon when I was hungry and I hinted I want people to take me...
