Doing the Countdown with Summer Programs, Including Color-Coordinated Notebooks and Reading Materials Ready for the Literacy Labs Ahead

And it's getting warmer. I was smart, as I mowed early and walked Karal soon after. Then I was on Workday doing accounting work, followed by writing projects, and then planning/meetings. A few World Cup games and a steak & cheese sandwich at Pam's, and a bit of editing on an artistic piece I need to finish. The day flew by and it feels like I didn't accomplish much of anything, although I know I was working all day.

Another highlight of the day was receiving Archaeology of Self: The Introspective Educator's Guide to Racial History by Yolanda Sealey Ruiz, which I can't wait to get into. I've been reading pieces of the work for years and now I'm excited to have it as a finished product.

Today should be the coolest of the next few days, and it is predicted to be brutal (hence I'll get out there early again with Karal). Indoor projects for most of the day. I also need to meet with students on campus, and to work with teachers on that second grant work.

And because it will be squeezed lemons again, I'm trying to think of my own when life gives you lemons stories that I can write for and with kids. Hoping, too, that there's no traffic on I-95. Sitting idle in the heat can bite just as much, even with air on. Short post...must fly.
